UPSC CIVIL SERVICES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each. Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions). The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English . Paper-II will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. This paper popularly known as CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test).

Total Marks : 200
Number of Questions : 80
For every CORRECT answer : 2.5 Marks
For every INCORRECT answer : -1/3 i.e., -0.83 Negative Marking
This paper is qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33% i.e., 66 marks.

- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. — Class X level).
