The agreement was signed on September 30, 2023, and it will come into force once it is ratified by both countries.
The SSA will allow professionals from India and Argentina to continue to contribute to their home country's social security system even while working in the other country. This means that they will be able to build up their retirement savings and qualify for social security benefits in their home country when they retire.
India is the 4th largest trading partner of Argentina with bilateral trade reaching $6.4 billion in 2022.
